Easy Seitan Chicken

This simple seitan chicken recipe is made with only 4 ingredients, giving you a shreddy, meaty, protien rich result.

Equipment

  • Stock Pot
  • Bowl
  • Stock Sock Optional. You could also wrap the seitan in cheesecloth for a similar result

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Hummus
  • 100 ml Unsweetened Soy Milk
  • 2 tbs Vegetarian Chicken Bullion
  • 200 grams Vital Wheat Gluten
  • 10 Cups Vegetarian Chicken Broth

Instructions

  • In a large bowl mix together hummus, soy milk, and vegan chicken flavoring together.
  • Mix in Vital Wheat Gluten, knead together.
    Knead for a couple of minutes
  • In a large stock pot add a tbs of oil and bring to a high heat. Fry the exterior of the seitan, roll it around to get all the sides
  • Remove seitan and pour in the vegetarian chicken flavored broth
  • *optional* Place seitan in a sock sock. This helps keeps the seitan from expanding too much and will give you a more shreddy result.
  • Add the seitan to the broth and let simmer for 45 minutes
  • Let cool and shred it up!
